"Dear Tom and the Midcoast Aerus Heat Pumps staff including Mike Johnson (salesperson) and Stephen Lynch (the installer). We needed a heat pump this year and started at Angi to see if there were any local companies (Brunswick, ME) that we knew. There were many companies to pick from and started with, what turned up to be, your company, Midcoast Aerus. We could see that you were on the list for Efficiency Maine too and that was good. We had used a company last year to get our attic done with insulation and Efficiency Maine had a great rebate and saw that we could get a rebate on heat pumps too. Maine has done a great job on energy reduction! I got emails from several companies through Angi and received a couple of calls and got one or two additional voice recording calls from Mike. He sounded good and I called him and we arranged for a house inspection a few days later. In the meantime, I received a couple more calls from other companies and talked with one, a high-pressure sales person and couldnâ t wait to get off the call! Mike arrived with Stephen, reviewed all kinds of options (including explanations about heat pumps efficiency, brands, etc. and info about Efficiency Maine) and we all decided on one with Fujitsu to be installed the following week. Mike stayed on constant contact by email and short calls to ask (or answers) regarding various questions along the way. Stephen came on Friday, April 21, 2023 and the electrician came that morning too. Mike came by that morning too. He was between customers and had an hour or so and helped carry in all the equipmentâ ¦as Mike said, he was more than happy to help lug stuff cuz he didnâ t know the installing part of it! But both were always friendly, and offered thoughts and ideas about heat pumps and energy efficiency, generally. Stephen did all the work himself and answered all kinds of questions throughout the day. Plus, our 9-year-old grandson (Kai) was there (for almost the entire day!) and he had LOTS of questions! Stephen was very kind and asked Kai to watch and help (picture attached) where possible. It took Stephen about 9 hours that day and after showed us how the remotes work (one upstairs and one down). Stephen cleaned up the site and like it is in the TV commercial, â It looks like it was never there.â The yard and house were clean and perfectly done. It looks like the new heat pump has always been there (inside and out)! (Pictures attached). Thank you, Mike, Stephen, and Tom (the owner), for a wonderful experience with the heat pump installation, finance, and the tremendous personal customer service Mike and Stephen had provided! Mike and Stephen had mentioned the name â Tomâ at various conversations and I realized that he is the owner. I have never met Tom before, but I had checked the comments on the Midcoast Aerus site and saw that the comments were mostly very good. There were some comments where one issue or another had to be fixed, and in every case, â Tomâ was on top of it and took care that those issues were fixed right away. He responded to every one! Incredibly professional! I told my wife what I had seen and that was all she needed! Thanks again! Call me if you need anything else on my end, finance-wise, etc. Tom Broussard 207-798-1449 tbroussa@comcast.net"

Comment: I have a passive solar house -- velux windows in the roof upstairs, floor-to-ceiling windows on the south side, downstairs. Just heard that last summer was the hottest in Maine's recent history --my upstairs rooms were unlivable last August. I moved downstairs, continue to live downstairs. Strong solar rays through the windows provide good heat downstairs on sunny cloudless days. Most days in the past two months have NOT been sunny, rather overcast, producing moderately cool temperatures in the house but becoming even colder, as January moves on. I have an all-electric house -- heating via baseboards controlled by wall thermostats in various locations throughout the house. I have little, if any, appropriate window covers, considering the climate heating up. I receive a monthly social security check of $2240 -- to take care of my health, property taxes, heating bill, 8-year-old car. I have been granted $550 in assistance by CMP, have used half of it in one bill in early December. I'm expecting an even larger bill soon, to use up the rest of it. I can ask for more, I'm told. I need financial assistance to help pay for window shades for 6 Velux windows in the roof, 4 floor-to- ceiling windows downstairs, front of house (I have old 40-year-old curtains from when the house was built in 1982, one of which wore out, two are on the point of being useless). Also some kind of insulating ; to cover a glass sliding door in the southern wall. I have looked into heat pumps. A company that sells them locally had a hard time finding a location in the house for the installation of a heat pump and its overall value to the total comfort of occupants and the cost savings, because so many of the walls are taken up by windows. I'm seeing on the Internet that the Maine government has a special section that deals with passive solar houses. Can you connect me with that organization? I prefer email.
